In February 2019 Shifnal Matters delivered 1100 consultation responses to Shirehall for Shropshire Council's perusal in response to the Local Plan Review - Preferred Sites consultation, which suggested safeguarding Lodge Hill for development, land which could take over 2000 houses. Additionally suggested was 55 hectares (85 football pitches) of employment land on Stanton Road, and 180 other houses, plus a "bypass".
Shifnal Town Council also delivered over 300 consultation responses to Shropshire Council - and it is Shifnal Matter's understanding that the volume of responses from Shifnal is the cause of the delay in Shropshire publishing the results - and this despite the programme being "unmovable" according to the a Shropshire Council employee!
